Shenyang Aircraft Corporation is the manufacturer of fighter
aircraft F-5 which is the first China-made high-subsonic jet fighter
aircraft for the purpose of safeguarding the mother- land by seizing
the air-supremacy along the battle frontier in addition of giving
air-support to the ground. Its initial flight was successfully
conducted on July 19, 1956. After delivery, two modifications
have been made per the requirements by the PLA Air Force of China,
namely, the all-weather interception fighter aircraft F-5A and,
the trainer aircraft FT-5.
