Owing to the joint efforts made by Shenyang Aircraft Research & Development Institute (SARD) and Shenyang Aircraft Corporation
(SAC), fighter aircraft F-8 was brought into existence. It is a new type
of hi-altitude/hi-speed fighter aircraft independently designed and
manufactured by the Chinese in China. Its initial flight was successfully conducted on July 5,1969 and, its design was finalized by December
the same year and, after that, such new versions as F-8I, F-8II, F-8IIM
were brought out one by one in succession
