Owing to the collaboration between Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC) and Shenyang Aircraft Research & Development Institute (SARD),
F-8II aircraft has been brought out. It is a new type of fighter aircraft characterized by high-altitude, high-speed and all-weather performance. Its initial flight was successfully conducted on June 12, 1984. And again, SARD and SAC working jointly on the basis of F-8II fighter aircraft to have F-8IIM fighter aircraft developed specially for the purpose of exportation. Its initial flight was successfully conducted on Mar. 31st, 1996. And in the same year, this export-oriented aircraft was present to the International Aerospace Fair-96, Zhuhai, China, and giving an excellent demonstration in the air. Since it is a modified version of F-8II fighter aircraft, as a matter of course, it has inherited the characteristics of high-speed, multi-role and all-weather performance.
